PLAYMAKER

Micky Staten - Playmaker

When you think playmaker, think “executionist”, or “glue guy”. Someone whose resourceful and does whatever is needed to succeed. Someone with or without the ball in their hands, can make something good happen for your team. This is Micky Staten. Micky takes pride in the skills he has developed as a basketball player. He deems these skills equally transferable to any endeavor he pursues. Micky went from making plays on the basketball court to making plays in the boardroom. Micky currently serves as the CEO of Need-A-Vid, a video production agency in Union County, NJ. It is in roles like this where his hooper instincts shine. From scouting the competition, to managing different personalities, to putting in countless hours to be the best, these habits learned from sport die hard. One can dare say, for Micky, they don’t die at all. “Ball will always be life” says Micky. Micky’s training and experience from basketball are what molded him today and he attacks every opportunity with the same approach as if he’s going for the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Micky’s playmaker persona not only speaks to his entrepreneurial capabilities but also to his humanitarian efforts. At every turn, Micky looks to give back to his community and those less fortunate. Being the change, he wishes to see in the world, comes with a major philanthropic component. Micky often works with several nonprofits to implement programs that teach kids about filmmaking and being successful in life.
